Late in life, I came to painting.
Natural settings are what inspire me … colours, textures, shapes, movement and light.
I use transparent acrylic paints and inks, which I apply, layer upon layer, then add opaques to paint in the negative space. Interesting and often surprising textural under-paintings emerge. The result of this process is unpredictable, which delights me.
Collage, mixed media and printmaking have been exciting for experimentation and exploration.
My studio is located in my home at 359 Blue Rocks Road, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia. I work there and with a painting group mentored by Susan Hudson. I am a member of the Lunenburg Art Gallery Society, The Swan Gallery Collective and the Mahone Bay Printmakers Studio.
